great portable drive August 31, 2010 datca Great drive, good price for a respected brand, works straight out of the box. Packaging is a little fiddly but that's a very minor gripe on my part - overall a great purchase.
PLEASES August 29, 2010 J. James (Birmingham) Purchased this product for my daughter who is a secondry school teacher and she is extrelely pleaseed with it. It arrived quickly and in excellent condition.
Excellent performance! August 25, 2010 BiggestFan I've been using this external hard drive for about a year now. It's simple to use and I have not had any trouble with either PC or Mac. It's small and easy to be carried around.
Though others have had trouble with the short USB cable, I did not find this to be troublesome...
feed back July 19, 2010 Nige does what it says on the tin, very simple to use and loads of space
Awful - slows down and becomes unusable July 11, 2010 Mr Steve Carter I had this bought me for my birthday a few months ago. It worked great for about a month and a half, then suddenly my weekly backup which takes about 10 minutes is not compelete in 2 hours...
I looked online in the WD forum and loads of people are having the same problem, I did all the usual stuff they recommend, defragging it, updating the software and firmware, erasing the contents and restarting etc, but none of it worked, and if you said that on the forum you were ignored, they left you to rot.
So I now have a hard drive which takes approximately 3 to 3.5 hours to back up the data that it used to backup in 10 mins, and my old maxtor drive (which I've had for years) still does in 10 mins.
I'll certainly be avoiding any WD products in the future!
